Algebra

The definition of Algebra is “math in general”. The study of Algebra deals with the general concepts of mathematics. It has been said that true mathematics can never be understood nor appreciated without a firm understanding of the general concepts of Algebra.

Since Algebra is so important to the understanding of mathematics, one would think it would be advantageous to introduce it to the student as soon as possible. The prerequisite for learning Algebra with this program is that the student should be able to count to nine. This program will greatly enhance the student’s basic arithmetic skills and give him or her a visual foundation for understanding the more complex operations of arithmetic.

Algebra should be learned simultaneously with the basic arithmetic skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

It’s all just counting!

Soon the students will be factoring polynomial expressions (x2 + 2x + 1) and finding square roots with ease!

While the students are doing these seemingly amazing things with the ease of child’s play, they will be reinforcing the concepts of place value, multiplication, factoring, division, and other basic operations of arithmetic. Be careful that you, as the teacher, do not tell them too quickly how to solve problems abstractly, but allow them to work with the pieces and give them time and opportunity to discover the answers on their own, which will be extremely motivating and rewarding to them.

There are 4 levels of Algebra available – 10 books a level.
Each book is about 20 pages long.
They begin by introducing the concept of x2 and x.
